How Long Does It Take For A Food/drink To Get Out Of Your Breast Milk?
How long does it take a food or drink to get out of your system? Example I forgot and ate broccoli. It make my baby gasy and miserable after breastfeeding. So I want to pump and throw away the milk until it is out of my system. Would 24 hrs be long enough? Or should I wait longer?

It takes about two to six hours for your body to digest and absorb the food you eat and pass it into your breast milk.
1If you eat dinner at 5:00 P.M., and your baby shows the symptoms listed above around 9:00 P.M., think about what you ate for dinner. To be sure if those foods are causing the problem, you will have to eat them again and see if your baby has the same reaction.
If your baby seems very fussy, try keeping a record of what you eat and drink.
Bring the record to your baby’s doctor to talk about a possible link between certain foods and your baby’s symptoms.
If you think a particular food is causing a problem, stop eating it for a while and see if your baby reacts better. You can always try later to introduce that food again into your diet in small amounts. If your baby doesn’t seem to react to it anymore, you could add more the next time.
for DRINK it only takes as long as you take to run through your system ie if you have a beer it take the average person to expel that beer one hour that is how it was explained to me in my breastfeeding class.
2As far as food sould not take more then 8 hours.
That’s a very interesting question. This would be something to ask your doctor. We can’t know for sure, and it might even vary from woman to woman.
