How Long Does Rhinoplasty Swolleness Last?

October 24, 2009 By: admin Category: Health

I had a rhinoplasty performed 11 days ago, and I can see a positive change already on one side of my nose, however, the other side of my nose still seems to be tight and puffy.
I understand that it takes a while, but I also had a bump (Cartilage) removed on the side that still is slow to improve…does this make a diffrence in the healing process, or I am I still over reacting?

  1. I wonder says:

it doesn’t take 6 months for swelling to go down. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks. In 6 months time, your nose will be (or should be) completely fine

You have to be patient. It can take even 2 years! for the swelling to go completely. I was told that the swelling on the tip takes longest to go, and it has a memory of the previous shape. If you have seen a positive change already, it should be really good once the swellings gone. WHen you’re healing, your nose can look crooked and uneven so dont panic.
