It causes cancer, and so does second hand smoke; however, alcohol abuse has been attributed to domestic violence, accidental murders/manslaughter, car accidents, hit-and-runs, destruction of properties, financial debts, liver problems, and various other health issues, including death. So why the heavy anti-smoking sentiment, and not much public outcry against alcohol abuse?

Based on the methodology of the zone it would seem that you would be able to drink as much alcohol as you want as long as it wasn’t mixed with anything as distilled alcohol and wines have a zero effect on insulin (0 glycemic index and 0 glycemic load.)
