I am about to undergo gastric bypass, and even after years of research I find myself all of a sudden feeling as though I know absolutely nothing now that the date is set. I am looking to talk to people who have had the surgery and gain some personal insight to the surgery and the aftermath. If anyone is willing to talk to me personally, or point me in the right direction of a helpful forum, that would be great! Thank you!

I’m looking for a school that teaches massage therapy so I can get my 500 hours and pass the ridiculous test to become certified. Just looking for the cheapest because I’ve already studied abroad and know all the techniques I’ve ever wanted to know. BUT Va is ridiculous and wants me to have 500 American hours of massage school. So which is cheapest? I don’t care if it’s a po-dunk little thing that’s never really heard of. Just cheap is the word.

Does this mean that the drug rehab program that they were made to undergo just wasn’t effective enough? Or is it more of the fault of the individual?

2 and a Half years ago I had Lap Band weight loss surgery. It was done by two Docs that had good reputations and after a couple years of research, they were the only ones that took my insurance. They completely screwed up the surgery and I never lost weight, so I didn’t have to tell friends. Only my family knows. Now I am in extream pain and having a surgery to try to repair it. This time I have one of the best Doctors in the world operating on me.
The thing is I don’t want some people to know that I’m having a correction to weight loss surgery. When I had the first surgery, I was riduculed by several people saying that I took the easy way out. Believe me, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve tried every diet in the world plus having a nighmare surgery and months of pain only to be told by those who know that it is my own fault.
It’s going to take several weeks to recover. What do I tell the people that won’t understand, like aquaintences, coworkers, & some of my friends that just don’t get It??

You would be suprised how well crunches work if done correctly or an abdominal wheel for $12.95. I guess its all in the glitz and marketing.
A lot of people equate weight loss with fat loss. When you lose more than 2 pounds a week your not just losing fat but muscle.
My point is if you are consistant and patient, then combine proper eating habits( notice I didn’t say diet, its a lifestyle change) and exercise that is the proper way to lose fat, get a six pack, and shape your muscles.

Why on earth do people get liposuction done or any other surgery to get rid of fat? Unless you have pounds of loose skin, what is the point? Why can’t they just eat healthier and exercise to lose that fat?

I was at Disneyland yesterday and it seemed like 1/3 of the crowd was in motorized scooters or wheel chairs. There were definitely people who needed them, but I also saw a lot of obese people scooting around who didn’t seem to have any other ailments other than not wanting to stand/walk. I also saw a lot of kids in wheelchairs (I guess you can rent them at Disneyland) but they didn’t look hurt, in fact some were having wheel chair races.

My insurance through my employer now pays for one weight loss surgery per lifetime. As a result many of my co workers have had the procedure. However many of them are still overweight. I don’t want to have this procedure if its not going to help me lose some of the pounds so that exercise/physical activity is not so much of a chore. Please help.

Do you find that it makes swallowing a little difficult? I mean…not enough to cause serious problems, but kind of like when you have Mono and your glands are swollen, the swallowing is a little hard but you can still do it? Or is it just me?

I’ve heard several women with darker skin say that in the past doctors have said that the laser hair removal treatment would create light spots on their skin where the treatment took place.
Has this changed? Is it possible to get it done without damaging the pigmentation of my skin. Please site a source.

Or must they follow the “rules of the road” like a car or someone on a bicycle? I’ve been surprised by several people in their motorized wheelchairs/carts when they enter a roadway or intersection. Can’t decide if they are very brave or unaware of the danger when they are out in traffic.

I’ve taken my truck in 6 times, 7 next week, for an ongoing alignment issue. Has a slight pull to the right and never is truly straight. Something must be wrong with the car. I feel it’s a safety issue since the truck feels like it wanders. Anyways, I have reported it to Ford and intend to follow through with having them replace it. My Q is how many people have actually HAD to have a lawyer or attorney step in to complete the process? It sounds like it shouldn’t require one, but the more I read, the more I discover that most people did hire one. Thanks in advance.

Don’t you agree that people who leave chewed food in their mouth and drink at the same time are weird? I always swallow my food before taking a drink.

Hello, These symptoms started about 2 or 3 months ago, after walking for several miles.
I am 64, and have shortness of breath that comes on once or twice a day, as well as coughing up flem. I’ve been to the heart doctor and he says my heart is fine. Nothing has showed up on my chest x rays.
I have been exposed to asbestus in my work, years ago. I have an appointment with a lung doctor in a couple of weeks.
Anyone have any ideas?
Asbestosis and mesothelioma, come to mind, but I was told those should have shown up on the chest x ray from my family doctor.

I will be going there for a mini holiday to visit friends some time?
I like Guinness, do ye have nice Guinness there.
Are there any local drinks worth trying?
Any local dish worth trying in a restaurant.
I pretty much eat anything except for very spicy food.
I hear the locals are nice.
How is the humour?
I understand the humour in your comedy shows, would this help?
I suspect my friends would plan out things to do anyway.
But knowing the best things to eat and drink would help.
Cheers for any info.

I like to answer to questions about various types of foods or beverages. I usually expect to see that in F&D.
What’s the deal about all that?
