I know you can call 888-5OPTOUT (888-567-8688) or use the http://www.optoutprescreen.com as a consumer to opt of of consumer credit card offers. I cannot, however, get an answer on how to get rid of pre-screened credit card offers as a business and am very frustrated. Who knows a good, solid answer?

Car Fire Question?

September 27, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

Had a brand new 2007 Nissan Altima with 7K miles catch fire while driving on the highway for no apparent reason, the car had given no prior problems and worked fine. There are recalls open about the car catching fire and one of them was done but the others were not done prior to me buying it from the dealership. I had full cover insurance but I want Nissan to pay for it since its clearly a manuf. defect, I have been in contact with them but they are clearly testing my patience. I dont want to use my insurance because why should my rates go up and me spend out of pocket money for a faulty vehicle they built.
I have been trying to contact an attorney for this but most of they handle lemon law cases or if there was an injury but not just car fire
Anyone have any advise….???

Car Question – What Would You Do In This Situation?

September 26, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

I purchased a used 2002 Jetta about 3 months ago. Since the day I drove off the lot I’ve had nothing but problems. The greasy Slick Rick salesman wouldn’t return my messages. I then contacted the manager, but haven’t had a ton of luck with him either. One of those scenerios where they take your money and run. I’ve had the car in 4 times now. They’ve tried to charge me for a few repairs, but backed down when I said absolutely no way! The problems were existing when I purchased the car. I’m at the point of…I hate the car…I hate the dealership…I want nothing to do with the situation anymore. I know it doesn’t fall under the lemon law because I purchased it used. Have you ever been in this situation? Do you have any suggestions? Do I need to call an attorney or the Better Business Bureau?
Thanks for your help!

I Have A Question Regarding Ny’s Lemon Law?

September 14, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

I recently purchased a vehicle for 2500, a 1994 buick century with 35,000 miles,
I bought it off of my mechanic who was selling it for a friend, and his friend lives in florida, we live in NY,
basically, I love the mechanic, he’s a great guy, and he’s always looking out for me,
but there is coolant leaking out of the intake gasket, and I’ve told him about it, and he says he’s not responsible under the lemon law, even though the bank wrote a check to HIM the mechanic, as a dealer, not the actual owner,
As much as I love the guy, i can’t afford the 500 dollar repair, but I don’t want to take it to small claims court,
He was just doing his friend a favor by selling the car, I don’t want to bone him over for doing a favor for a friend, which is the kind of stuff he does for me all the time,…
what should I do?

Please Help Asap!! Important Question Dealing With Craigslist/lemon Law/cell Phone?

September 11, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

Okay, first off I live in Florida. In Pinellas County. I posted an ad on craigslist to sell my Verizon Blackberry smartphone. This guy offered me money then asked out of curiousity why i didnt want the phone anymore. i told him it was under a roommates name and she didnt pay the bill so the service got cut off. he bought the phone with this knowledge and i have proof in a text message that i told him this information. now he is threatening to call the police. and mentioned something about a lemon law. well i tried looking it up and to what ive seen there is no lemon law for cellphones. then he said its in the fine print in craigslist and when i looked at craigslist it says they do not offer ‘buyer protection’. he said its a fraud because the phone doesnt work. but the PHONE works perfectly. i told him i sold him a PHONE not a service plan. i did not at ANY point tell him he could reactivate this phone with verizon. is there any legal action he can take? i asked 2 friends, and they said no.but i wanted to ask a broader range of people.

My Friend Shawn Has A “lemon Law” Type Legal Question.?

September 11, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

My friend Shawn has a “Lemon Law” type legal question.?
He bought a 1996 GMC Sierra one week ago. He put $1000 down. That night, he bought a new battery because the one it it died. Five days later, the fuel pump malfunctioned.
He signed some loan papers with a bank that didn’t get approved. Now they want him to come in and sign the paperwork for “Buy Here, Pay Here” type financing.
Where do we go from here, legally? If it were me, I would probably go down there and blow up in the guys face.
Were in Utah.

Il Lemon Law Question?

September 05, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

i bought a 2002 Nissan Altima 7/8 and on 7/10 the ‘check engine’ sign came on. I took it to the dealership on 7/15 and they said that the cat converter needed to be replaced but not immediately. Thinking I had a few weeks (or maybe months) I drove about when the car suddenly started displaying the oil light. I pulled the car on the shoulder (on a highway) and the car completely dies. I try and start it back up with no luck. Got it towed to the nearest motel (200 miles from home).
The question here would be..can I sue/qualify under lemon law for a. compensation of all my expenses and b. the vehicle purchased?
Thanks

Lemon Law Question?

August 31, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

If a vehicle was bought brand new in 2004, and right after purchasing it, drip marks of some sort of fluid started to appear on the driveway and was brought in, supposetly fixed, and then it happens again another 5 times.
The dealer (because it is under warranty) supposetly fixed one problem, but when it goes back in, they say, “oh, now it’s this, we think.”
They never seem to pin point as to where the leak is actually coming from.
4yrs later, STILL a drip marks appears.
How many times is a vehicle considered a lemon, to qualify for the lemon law and how does it all work?
You get a new vehicle the same year, obviously it wouldn’t be brand new, or a 2008 model??
Each state different?

Question About Warranties, And Lemon Law?

August 31, 2009 By: admin Category: Business & Finance

I bought a brand new scooter from a dealership. I liked it after test driving it, and thought it ran great. I bought the scooter for $1300. 5 weeks after owning the scooter, the battery went dead and would not start the scooter. I called the dealer who sold it to me. He said he would be happy to take a look at it. He came out to my house and took the scooter back to his place of business to look at it free of charge. He then called me, stated that the battery was weak, that the warranty does not cover wear and tear items such as the batteries, tires, clutch, etc., and that he would not charge me to put in a new battery as a one time good will jesture to make me happy. He then installed the new battery, checked everything over on the scooter to make sure it was in sound running condition, and returned the scooter to my home. He did not charge me for the battery, or anything else. Three weeks later the scooter was not running right as it would stall or idle improperly. I called the dealer again and complained. He stated that to me that everything was in great condition when he had the scooter the last time to put in a new battery, and asked me what I did to it. He said that he doubts anything is wrong with the scooter, but he would be happy to take a look at it again. I declined to have him look at it again as I was lead to believe I bought a lemon scooter. Another four weeks passed, and the scooter had 160 miles on it. Then, the rear wheel locked up on the scooter and would not move. The scooter would not start as well. I called the dealer again and complained. The dealer asked me what I had done to it, and I said nothing because all I did was ride the scooter around town. He said he would come out immediately to take a look at the scooter. He then came out to my house and took the scooter to his place of business. One day later he called me and said the clutch in the engine of the scooter is totally destroyed, that typically clutches in scooters last at least 1-2 years on average, and that something abusive had to be done to destroy a clutch within such a short period of time. He said that the warranty does not cover the clutch, or the labor to repair or install a new clutch, and that he would have to charge me $100 for parts and labor to install a new clutch in the scooter. I complained back to him that he sold me a lemon, and that I either want a new scooter, or a refund back. He then replied back that all sales are final, with no refunds, or returns, and that I signed the warranty agreement, and the bill of sale that stated all of what he claimed. He also stated that lemon law does not apply to scooters, motorcycles, or mopeds in our state of Pennsylvania. I then threatened to sue him for selling me a lemon scooter, and hung up on him. My question is, do I have a case to sue him for a defective product, lemon law, express warranty, fitnness of merchanibility, or any other legal standpoint? The next day he called me back, and offered to either fix the scooter for $100, or buy back the scooter for $700. I declined both as I feel he should give me all of my money back. He then stated that he is under no obligation to fix the scooter for free, or give me a full refund back, and that he offered to buy back the scooter just because he said he doesn’t let his customers hang. What do you think?

I bought a PT Crusier from Carmax just 6 weeks ago. I couldn’t afford to buy the extened 1 year warranty. Now the computer system, or the transmission or something has gone very wrong and my car will only run in 1st gear. Lemon Law says I have 1 year or 18000 miles to report a problem. will I have a case if they don’t fix it?
